Licence Condition numberType of non-complianceEPA actionsNo. of times occurred
L2.2 Load limit for Nitrogen exceeded. Treatment process is not designed to remove nitrogen and loads have gradually increased due to population growth. A range of upgrade options are being developed for the plant, including nitrogen removal. Non-compliance(s) under investigation 1
M2.1 Sampling machine failed to collect a full 24 hr composite sample. The sampling machine was repaired and the partial sample collected was analysed and the results reported in the annual return. Appropriate Action taken by licensee 1
M6.1 On one occasion not possible to calculate the volume discharged through point 1 as one flowmeter failed. Failure of the flow sensor caused the flowmeter to fail. All flow sensors on both primary flowmeters have been replaced with the newer type. Appropriate Action taken by licensee 1
O3.1 Overflow from clarifier no. 3 occured on 5/9/10 due to blockage in the outlet. Improved housekeeping and containment of loose items. Grates with larger openings have been installed to reduce likelihood of blockages occuring in the future. Appropriate Action taken by licensee 1
O3.2 Effluent bypassed the secondary treatment of the plant and therefore not all flows up to 1400L/s received biological treatment and clarification. EPA to monitor future compliance with this condition 6
O3.1 Due to high flows and blinding of screens by fat, sewage overflowed from the screens and flowed outs EPA to monitor future compliance with this condition 1
